Vision:
The department of Psychiatric Nursing and Mental Health has the capabilities that qualify its members to achieve excellence for undergraduate and postgraduate students. The department aims to advance the education and practice of psychiatric nursing at the native and international levels, which enhances mental health and helps in the prevention of psychological and mental illnesses in the community.
Mission:
Achieving excellence in mental health education and mental health through the development and implementation of courses, educational programs and research activities that ultimately lead to the refinement of the skills of the faculty graduate in dealing with individuals with different cultures as well as people with mental disorders
The department’s strategic objectives:
- Providing the students with the information, skills, and attitudes necessary to promote mental health for the individual, family, and community.
- Providing the students with the skills and information necessary for the therapeutic intervention of psychiatric patients
- The application of the tripartite concept of health care which consists of prevention, treatment and rehabilitation.
- Developing technological skills to be used in the development of therapeutic service for psychiatric patients and the developments of education, scientific research and community.
