The Nursing Education Department starts in 2008. It seeks to implement the goals emanating from the college’s vision, mission, and philosophy, which depend on continuous scientific development in providing educational programs to prepare nursing cadres and leaders in the field of scientific practice and research on the basis of local and international educational standards.
Mission:
Provide educational programs to graduate competent and qualified nurse educators being able to play different roles and to improve the health of society through the teaching of outstanding nursing, scientific research, and applied practice. In addition, the Nursing Education Department help in preparing nursing graduates to act as a highly qualified health educator, to help community members in taking informed decisions regarding health promotion, disease prevention and management.
Vision: The Nursing Education Department target to become a pioneer in providing educational programs in nursing education at the local level.
Objectives:
General Objective: Graduate a highly qualified nurse and health educators.
Specific Objectives:
- Prepare nursing students to be health educators through counselling and producing health media to health care team and to the community with a high effectiveness and competency.
- Introduce innovative teaching strategies to facilitate higher cognitive levels, problem solving, decision making and critical thinking.
- Conduct training workshops to guide nurse educators to use innovative teaching and evaluation strategies and to prepare the newly appointed nurse educators.
- Apply the research’s results to improve the educational process.
Scientific Degrees:
The department offers special courses needed to the following scientific degrees:
- Master in nursing education
- Doctorate in Nursing Education.
- Diploma Nursing Education.
Among the most important areas of educational nursing sciences that the department specializes in bachelor’s, diploma, master’s, and doctoral programs are: curriculum development, teaching strategies, educational technology, health and community education, measurement and evaluation, new trends in specialization, and other scientific and educational fields in nursing education sciences.
